Women's Soccer Assistant Coach Regan Departs For Indiana

DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University women's soccer assistant coach Mike Regan has accepted an assistant coach position with the Indiana University women's soccer team, Drake head coach Lindsey Horner announced on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

"I'm thrilled for Mike to be able to take the next step in his coaching career," said Horner. "Mike has been an invaluable asset to our program over the last four years. He has been a great coworker within our department and leader, teacher and motivator to our players. Not only is he prepared for the next challenge, I'm confident the situation at Indiana will be a great fit for Mike. While we hate to see him go it is important that our staff develops while at Drake and have opportunities to advance their careers."

Regan was hired by Horner in 2012 and helped the Bulldogs win the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference regular season title along with 31 matches in his four seasons as an assistant.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my four years at Drake and I am grateful to so many people who have mentored and guided me along the way," said Regan. "I would like to thank Lindsey Horner for the opportunity to work at Drake and for providing me with the environment in which to grow as a person and as a coach. Lindsey's support and encouragement during this time has been invaluable and I have always appreciated that. In addition, I want to thank the players for their hard work and commitment – we had some great times together and I will always remember those. The team spirit was always excellent and I wish all of them the best of luck in the remainder of their careers at Drake."

Prior to Drake Regan spent five seasons as the head coach for the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) men's soccer team.
