DES MOINES, Iowa – No. 35 Drake University tennis team heads to Chapel Hill, N.C. this weekend for the the ITA Kickoff event hosted by North Carolina. The Bulldogs will kickoff the two-day event by squaring off against No. 40 N.C. State on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. local time.
 
The Bulldogs are coming off a 5-2 victory over No. 70 Utah State last Saturday, while the Wolfpack enter Saturday's dual with a 3-0 record after defeating The Citadel, 7-0, on Monday.
 
Drake and N.C. State met last year in a neutral site contest in Madison, Wis. where the Bulldogs won the final three singles matches to comeback and beat the Wolfpack, 4-3.
 
Drake will play either No. 50 Indiana or No. 10 North Carolina on Sunday.
 
Saturday will be Indiana's first dual of the season, while the Tarheels are coming into the weekend with a 2-0 record after defeating Georgetown and North Carolina A&T on Jan. 16.
 
After this weekend's event the Bulldogs will return to the east coast next week as they will travel to Dartmouth and Harvard on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31, respectively.
