Drake (12-6, 5-2 MVC) had its five-game winning streak stopped by UNI this past Sunday. The Bulldogs overcame a 14-point deficit against the Panthers and held a one-point advantage with 1:38 to go after freshman
Sara Rhine (Eldon, Mo.) drilled a jumper. However, UNI made a three on its next possession and then held off the Bulldogs to pull out the 79-73 win and take sole possession of first place in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Rhine had a career day in the loss equaling her career high in points with 22 while pulling down a career-best 15 rebounds to record her third career double-double. Even more impressive is the freshman played just 22 minutes. Rhine is averaging 12.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while shooting a league-leading 59 percent from the floor.
Junior
Lizzy Wendell (Blue Springs, Mo.) finished with 12 points in the loss and has scored 1,571 career points to rank 14
th all-time in school history. Wendell continues an impressive climb up statistical category having entered this season ranked 22
nd all-time.
Bradley (5-13, 1-6 MVC) is led in scoring by sophomore Anneke Schlueter at 10.4 points per game. Schlueter has made 38 three-pointers this season and ranks fifth in the MVC at 2.1 three-pointers made per game. Friday is the first of four straight home games for Bradley, who will play six of its next eight games at home.
Drake ends the weekend at Loyola in a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. in the first game between the two teams this season.
