Home court has been critical in the recent history between the two teams as Drake has won three of the last four meetings in the Knapp Center while the Sycamores have won three of the last four meetings on their home court.
The Bulldogs enter Wednesday's contest with a 5-9 record and an 0-2 mark in MVC action after opening the conference season with losses to Wichita State and Illinois State. The 67-62 loss to Illinois State was the Bulldogs' sixth of the season by eight or fewer points.
The Sycamores are 1-1 in the MVC after defeating Loyola, 73-58, on Saturday and 7-7 overall. Devonte Brown's 14.4 points per game lead the Sycamores while Brenton Scott adds 13.2 and Khristian Smith contributes 11.2 points and a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game.
Despite two subpar outings — relatively speaking – from the three–point arc, Drake remains ninth in the nation in three-point accuracy at 42.4 percent. In the last three meetings with Indiana State, Drake has shot 57.1 percent (48-of-49) from the arc.
In the loss to Illinois State,
Graham Woodward (Edina, Minn.) had 15 points on 3-of-6 shooting from the three-point arc. He leads the Bulldogs in scoring in their last three games with 16.7 points per game and has 27 assists in the last seven games.
