MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Drake University women's tennis team had a pair of doubles teams advance to the round of 32 at the USTA/ITA Central Regional Championships on Friday in Minneapolis.
 
Summer Brills and Joely Lomas cruised past Arkansas State's Allison Quammen and Tori Roberts, 8-2, while Tess Herder and Kenya Williams topped Omaha's Emily Behling and Rylee Tucker 8-4. Mela Jaglarz and Abigail Sogard fell to Mackenzy Middlebrooks and Cassidy Searman from Missouri, 8-2.
 
In singles, Brills came away with the only victory for the Bulldogs in the consolation draw. Brill defeated Maria Velazco from South Dakota State, 6-4, 6-2.
 
Drake will continue action at the USTA/ITA Central Regional Championships on Saturday.
