KANSAS CITY - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recognized the Drake University men's and women's soccer programs for their academic success during the 2015-16 school year, the association announced on Thursday, Oct. 6.
The Drake men's soccer program earned its 12
th straight NSCAA College Team Academic Award with a team grade point average of 3.33 for the school year.
For the 14
th consecutive season, the NSCAA honored the Drake women's soccer program for its academic success as the Bulldogs finished with a GPA of 3.50.
Drake is one of 221 schools across all divisions to have both men's and women's soccer programs recognized by the NSCAA.
To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
