Caitlin Ingle, a senior from Runnells, Iowa, has been named this week's Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Drake Graduate and Professional Programs.
Ingle, a guard for the Drake University women's basketball team, averaged 18 points, 5.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds for Drake this past week in road games at Creighton and Iowa State. Against the Cyclones, Ingle scored 16 points and surpassed the 1,000-career points mark. She is the 29
th player in program history to score 1,000 or more points.
Against the Bluejays, Ingle equaled her career-high with 20 points in addition to four rebounds and four assists. Earlier this season, Ingle was named to the prestigious Lieberman watch list, an award given to the top point guard in the nation.
Academically, Ingle holds a 3.84 grade point average and is majoring in psychology.
Ingle and the women's basketball team take on Wyoming Sunday, Nov. 27 at the Knapp Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the game can be watched on
