Sammie Bachrodt, a sophomore from Wichita, Kan., has been named this week's Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Drake Graduate and Professional Programs.
Bachrodt, a guard for the Drake women's basketball team, continued her strong play this season in Drake's 63-50 win over Wyoming on Sunday, Nov. 27 in the Knapp Center. She scored 11 points and added three rebounds and three assists in a career-high 32 minutes.
In three-straight games, Bachrodt has scored double-figures for the Bulldogs and is averaging a career-best of 12.0 points per game this season. She is third in the Missouri Valley Conference in field goal percentage at 55.9 percent.
Academically, Bachrodt holds a 3.62 grade point average and is majoring in business.
Bachrodt and the women's basketball team return to the Knapp Center to take on Northern Illinois on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game can be watched on
