The Drake University men's and women's basketball team hosted their annual Bulldog Madness event on Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Knapp Center. In addition to helping tipoff the 2016-17 season, Drake students received a bounty of free food and prizes.

The Bulldogs also entertained their fellow students with various skills competitions, a three-point shootout and other contests. One of the highlights of the evening was Lizzy Wendell and Reed Timmer combining to drain 16 three-pointers in a minute to win a Drake student $500. 

The evening was capped by a Drake student attempting to drain a layup, a free-throw, a three-pointer and a half-court shot to win a brand new car from Noble Auto Group. Two years ago, Alex Tillinghast became a national sensation by accomplishing the improbable feat to earn a new car. Unfortunately this year's contestant was not as fortunate as he came up just short.
