Tanner Evans, a senior from Gretna, Neb., has been named this week's Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Drake Graduate and Professional Programs.
Evans, a defensive lineman for the Drake football team, wreaked havoc all game against Jacksonville University on Nov. 5, 2016 contributing to the Bulldogs 31-27 win. He recorded a game-high of three tackles for a loss against the Dolphins. He completed the game with a total of nine tackles, three being solo stops.
Academically, Evans holds a 3.84 grade point average and is double majoring in finance and law, politics and society.
Evans and the football team return to the Drake Stadium on Nov. 12 to take on Butler University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
