BATON ROUGE, La. – The 35^th-ranked Drake University men's tennis fell to No. 33 LSU, 4-0, on Friday afternoon at the LSU Tennis Complex in the Bulldogs first outdoors match of the season.

The Tigers won all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.

"Credit to LSU for its strong start and play in doubles. It was our first match outdoors and oddly we gained a bit of confidence in doubles as we started seeing the ball better and striking it better as the match went on," Drake head coach Davidson Kozlowski said.

In singles, 76^th-ranked Ben Lott was defeated by No. 44 Jordan Dailge, 6-2, 7-5, while Bayo Philips fell in straight sets as well, 6-4, 7-5 at the No. 2 spot. LSU's Andrew Korinek topped Tom Hands in three sets to secure the match point for the Tigers. Korinek claimed the first set 6-1, and Hands rebounded to take the second set 6-3. Korinek bounced back to win the final set 6-1. The final three matches went unfinished with two of them being in the third set and Calum MacGeoch up a set and leading in the second set.

"We did well in singles pushing three of the matches into third sets and also having control of court five. We will continue to play better and stronger outdoors as we continue this weekend. We are pumped for Louisiana on Saturday and then wrapping this trip up at No. 27 Tulane on Sunday," Kozlowski said.

The Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround as they head to Louisiana on Saturday at 1 p.m.
