Women's Golf Starts Strong At Bulldog Invitational

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – The Drake University women's golf completed the first day of the Bulldog Invitational on Monday as the Bulldogs are in fifth-place through 18 holes.

"We saw a lot of good things today. There were some slow starts and not our best ball striking, but we remained focused and finished the round strong," Drake head coach Rachael Pruett said. "As a team, we continued to improve and are right on the cusp of breaking through."

The Bulldogs recorded a 316 and just nine strokes behind Wofford and Appalachian State who are tied for second with a score of 307.

Just a single stroke separates Drake's top-three scorers, as sophomore Madison Glennie fired a 77 (+5), good for tied for 11th, to lead the team. Freshmen Sophie Hill and Grace Dunn each carded a 78 and are tied for 17th place. Freshman Adrianna Elliott recorded an 83, while senior Katie Clausen shot an 84. Sophomore Brooke Miller rounded out the team's effort with an 85.

The Bulldogs will play the final round of the Bulldog Invitational on Tuesday at 9 a.m. EST.
