Men's Tennis Hosts No. 30 Oregon On Tuesday

DES MOINES, Iowa – The 41st-ranked Drake University men's tennis team welcomes No. 30 Oregon to the Roger Knapp Tennis Center on Tuesday at 12 p.m.
 
This is the second time in three years that the Bulldogs have hosted the Ducks. In their last meeting in 2014, Oregon topped Drake 4-0.
 
The Bulldogs are 12-6 on the season and are coming off a tough 4-3 loss to nationally ranked Wisconsin on March 13. Drake has won six of its last seven matches and has been nearly perfect at home with a 10-1 record. Scotland natives Calum MacGeoch and Vinny Gillespie lead the Bulldogs with 12 and 11 dual match singles wins, respectively. MacGeoch has won seven of his last eight matches, while Gillespie is on a four-match winning streak. 

The Ducks come to Des Moines riding a nine-match winning streak with their last loss coming by the hands of No. 4 Baylor on Jan. 24. Oregon is led by Daan Maasland, who is ranked 70th in singles with 8-2 record. The Ducks have three players with 12 singles wins, Jayson Amos, Thomas Laurent and Simon Stevens. Amos is on a nine-match winning streak, while Laurent and Stevens have each won eight straight.

Following the match-up against the Ducks, Drake heads to the Houston, Texas where the team will square off against No. 38 Rice and No. 8 Texas Tech on Saturday, March 26. The Bulldogs wrap up their trip to the Lone Star state with a match against William & Mary on Sunday, March 27.
