DES MOINES, Iowa – With a split squad this weekend, a small contingent of the Drake track and field team traveled across town to the Grand View Invitational to record wins in seven events on Friday, March 25.

Drake's middle distance crew was well represented as both the men's and women's 4x800-meter relay teams won their races with many of those same runners having great success individually in the 800 meters. 

Freshman Josh Yeager won the men's 800 meters in 1:59.50 while Emma Huston (Des Moines, Iowa) claimed the women's race in 2:18.39 followed by four other Bulldogs in the top 10.

In the distance events Katie Berger won the 5,000 meters in 20:34.17 while Tyler Zak took top honors in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.77. The Bulldogs also claimed the top two spots in the men's triple jump with Ethan Turner winning in 44-7.5 followed by Sean Buczek in second.

The bulk of the team will compete on Saturday, March 26, at the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
