EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Drake University women's tennis team shutout the Evansville Purple Aces, 4-0, on Saturday at the Harrison Tennis Courts.

The Bulldogs improve to 12-10 overall and 2-2 in Missouri Valley Conference action.

Drake jumped out to a 1-0 lead by a dominating performance in doubles. Seniors Mariel Ante and Maddie Johnson rolled past Marina Darzyan and Doreen Crasta. 6-0 at No. 1, while Summer Brills and Joely Lomas secured the point with a 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot.

Drake continued its momentum into singles. DU went up 2-0 when UE's Crasta retired to Lomas the win at No. 5. Sophomore Tess Herder put together a perfect performance, beating Katie Delgado, 6-0, 6-0 at No 3. Johnson cruised past Marina Moreno, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 to clinch the match for the Bulldogs.

Drake travels to Southern Illinois on Sunday to close out its weekend.
