Football Set For Saturday's Annual Spring Game

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University football has one more full practice on Thursday in preparation for the annual spring game on Saturday, April 23 at Drake Stadium. The contest, which marks the end of the Bulldogs' spring practices is set to begin at 1 p.m.

For the third straight year, Saturday's game will pit the defense and offense against each other rather than separating into two full, distinct rosters. That decision was a by-product of the staff attempting to maximize the team's practice time and has proved beneficial in getting as many repetitions as possible.

The defense will be awarded two points for a three-and-out, five points for a turnover and 11 points total points for a defensive touchdown. The offense can get on the board via a touchdown or a field goal and can earn one point for a first down and a point for a play of 20-plus yards.

Fans that can't make it to Saturday's game can catch all the action live at GoDrakeBulldogs.com

Following Saturday's spring game, the Bulldogs will resume offseason workouts as they prepare for the upcoming 2016 season.
