HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Sophomore
Matt Lavery finished in the top-10 to lead the Drake men's golf team on the final day of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Tuesday at the Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
The Bulldog concluded the 54-hole tournament with a 907 (297-304-306) scorecard, finishing in seventh-place. Drake was just a shot behind sixth-place Evansville and four shots back of fifth-place Bradley.
Lavery placed tied for seventh with a score of 221 (72-74-75), earning his second top-18 flag after finishing tied for 13th-place last year. Freshman
Tommi Avant carded a 76 to finish in 19th-place with a score of 228 (75-77-76), while sophomore
Drew Ison also recorded a 76 for a total score of 230 (75-79-76). Freshman
Jack Kennedy also finished with a total score of 230 (76-75-79) after shooting a 79 on the final 18 holes. Senior
Blake Huser scored an 85 in his final collegiate round to total a score of 238 (75-78-85).
The Missouri Valley Conference Championship concludes the season for Drake.
