DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake Athletics has partnered with Daktronics to design and manufacture a new video display board to debut this week at Drake Stadium during the 107th Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee.
The new video display would not have been possible without the support from Ron Olson, a 1963 graduate of Drake University and a football letter winner. The official dedication of the video display will take place during the 2016 football season.
The large LED video display features a 13HD pixel layout and measures approximately 24 feet high by 38.5 feet wide. The display is capable of showing a single large image across the display, or dividing the display into zones that can be filled with any combination of live video, instant replays, scoring information, statistics, graphics and sponsor messages.
"Daktronics has been a tremendous partner through the years in enhancing our in-venue fan and student-athlete experience," said athletic director
Sandy Hatfield Clubb. "Daktronics' expertise and state-of-the-art products guarantee that Drake Stadium remains one of the premier track and field and football venues in the nation."
A new audio system has also been integrated with the video and scoring system to provide clear and intelligible speech giving fans a more powerful audio experience. Daktronics Creative Services has also provide a range of digital content to the Bulldogs including sponsorship messages, crowd prompts, headshots and game openings.
