DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University football's Eric Saubert was named to STATS FCS Preseason All-America Team, announced Monday.
 
Saubert, a fifth-year senior tight end from Hoffman Estates, Ill., garnered first-team All-American honors. The 6-foot-4 242 pound Saubert caught 55 passes to lead the nation's tight ends and ranked in the top-three among tight ends with 506 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior. Last year's performance earned him All-American accolades by three different organizations and first-team All-PFL honors.
 
Saubert and the rest of the Bulldogs open the 2016 season on Sept. 3 when they host Quincy to Drake Stadium.
