STOCKTON, Calif. – The Drake University men's soccer team lost at Pacific, 3-1, Friday, Aug. 26 to open the 2016 season.

Ben LeMay (Hugo, Minn.) scored the match's first goal in the 19
th minute (19:18). LeMay fired a perfect strike into the back of the net after capitalizing on a mistake by the Pacific (1-0) goalkeeper.
However, the lead did not last long as the Tigers scored the equalizer in the 25
th minute and the go-ahead goal in the 27
th minute (27:14). The goals were scored by Camden Riley and Anthony Orendain, respectively. Pacific added its final goal in the 35
th minute (35:45) as John Rico-Contreres put one in the net.
The Bulldogs' offense struggled in the match managing just two shots with one on goal while the Tigers recorded 14 shots and seven on goal. It was a physical match as the two teams combined for 30 fouls.
Drake plays at CSU Bakersfield Sunday at 9 p.m. The match is the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
