SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Drake football's Drew Lauer was named Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced on Sunday, September 11.
 
Lauer returned a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown in Drake's 56-28 loss at nationally-ranked South Dakota State, Saturday. He finished the day with 114 yards on his three kickoff returns (39.0 yards per return). Coincidentally, each of his three returns led to a Drake touchdown. His kickoff return for a touchdown is one of only four in the FCS after two weeks.
 
Lauer and the Bulldogs return to Drake Stadium on Saturday when they host McKendree at 1 p.m.
