Paul Morrison will celebrate his 100th birthday on July 25, 2017. Drake Athletics has marked the 2016-17 school year as the Year of the Fan in recognition of Paul Morrison's commitment and passion for Drake Athletics. Events and special recognitions listed below will take place during the 2016-17 calendar year to celebrate a century of Paul F. Morrison. 
 
Games
Each sport will select one game as its Year of the Fan game. Drake Athletics will honor Paul Morrison at each selected game along with other fans who have demonstrated their own passion and support of Drake Athletics. A commemorative gift will be provided to fans in attendance.
 
Open Practices
Each team will make one practice open to the general public to come watch and tour the practice facilities.
 
Pay it Forward
Drake Athletics will Pay It Forward by providing random acts of kindness to Drake fans and community members throughout the year. A business card size note will be included with each Pay It Forward to explain why each fan/person is receiving the gift on behalf of Paul Morrison.
 
Day of Service 
During the month of December, the Athletics Department staff and coaches will volunteer one day of service to give back to the Des Moines community. 
 
Season Ticket Deliveries
Head coaches and student athletes will make special ticket deliveries to season ticket holders as way of thanking them for their support
 
Paul Morrison Drake Relays Ticket
Paul Morrison's image will be included in the commemorative Drake Relays hard ticket design set.
 
Archive item of the month 
On the 25^th day of each month, one item will be displayed via social media to show the rich history of Drake Athletics and the Drake Relays
 
Favorite Memories of Paul
As part of Drake's Year of the Fan celebration, fans will be invited to submit their favorite memories of Paul thru GoDrakeBulldogs.com.
