Utah State's Monika Van De Vondel topped sophomore Joely Lomas, 6-1 6-1 in the No. 3 draw.

In doubles, both teams lost their opening round matches, as Williams and Herder won their consolation No. 2 Flight B match over Northern Colorado's Anna Battersby and Courney Schulte.
