NORMAL, Ill. – The Drake University women's golf team finished in 12th-place out of 14 teams at the Redbird Invitational on Monday.
"After this tournament the ladies showed they can compete with top teams. Now we need to sustain that high level of play for 18 holes and through a full tournament," said Drake head coach
Rachael Pruett. "They've got it and I can't wait to see them exceed their own expectations.
The Bulldogs concluded the 54-hole event with a score of 940 (310-314-316), while Boston College claimed the team title with a score of 890.
Madison Glennie shot an even par in the front-nine and finished her day with a 76 ( 4), placing tied for 28th-place with a score of 231 (80-75-76). Dunn finished one shot behind Glennie for the day for a total score of 233 (79-77-77), tied for 33rd. Freshman
Sigurlaug Jonsdottir carded an 82 on the final day for a score of 238 (78-78-82).
Brooke Miller rebounded for a tough second round to shoot an 81 in her final round for a score of 246 (77-88-81), while freshman
Aimee Gerschke rounded out the team's effort with a score of 248 (76-84-88).
The Bulldogs return to the links on Sept. 19 at the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Ball State.
