DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's basketball program hosted its annual One-on-One event with Drake faculty and staff members and the public on Thursday evening at the Knapp Center.
Each student-athlete was paired with a Drake faculty or staff member and introduced to each other at a dinner prior to the event. The dinner gave each pair a chance to share personal information and stories before introducing one another at a short program for the public on the floor of the Knapp Center.
Prior to the program, the team hosted a dessert reception for the public on the upper concourse of the Knapp Center. After enjoying numerous delicious desserts from several, generous local businesses the action moved to the court for the program.
The program allowed the faculty and the student-athletes to introduce each other to the crowd. The duos used fun, creative ways to present each other and give the audience a chance to get to know the student-athletes in a different way than what they see out on the basketball court. Check the list below for the pairings.
