The Drake University women's basketball team hosted its annual media day on Monday, Oct. 16, meeting with the local media to preview the upcoming 2017-18 season.
 
After one of the most successful seasons in program history, sixth-year Drake head coach Jennie Baranczyk returns three starters and nine letterwinners for the 2017-18 season, as the Bulldogs look to defend their Missouri Valley Conference championships and return to the NCAA Tournament. Four newcomers round out the 2017-18 Drake roster.
 
The Bulldogs will officially open their season Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Knapp Center in the opening round of the preseason WNIT against Milwaukee. Drake will host a pair of exhibition contests, Grand View Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. and Truman State Nov. 5 at 2 p.m., to help prepare for the regular season.
