POWELL'S POINT, N.C. – The Drake University men's golf team moved up to fifth-place through two rounds at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Monday.
 
The Bulldogs recorded their lowest round of the season with a 285 and rose to fifth-place on the leaderboard with a total score of 573 (288-285). Campbell widened its lead on the 18-team field with a score of 540 and holds a 19-shot lead over second-place Ball State.
 
"The team played well today. The conditions were more difficult with the winds picking up this afternoon. It was also a challenge since the winds were changing direction throughout the day," said Drake head coach Matt Lewis. "Jack (Kennedy) was in control all day and had a great round. Tim (Lim) also followed up yesterday's play with another good score."
 
Jack Kennedy fired a two-under par 69 to lead the team and is tied for 14th-place with a total score of 141 (72-69). Tim Lim carded an even par 71 and is tied for 11th-place with a score of 140 (69-71). Drew Ison put together a one over par 72 for a total score of 145 (73-72). Chase Wicklund was three strokes better than yesterday for a total score of 149 (76-73), while Kyle MacDonald rounded out the team's effort with a 150 (74-76).
 
"I was proud of our finish from all of the guys as they battled to the end and we made several birdies on the last few holes," said Lewis.
 
The Bulldogs will wrap up play at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Tuesday which will also be the final round of the fall season for Drake.
