Des Moines, Iowa -- Drake University Athletics has launched a Fan Advisory Council, which will consist of 15-20 individuals serving a two-year term, Director of Athletics
Brian Hardin announced Monday, Dec. 18.
The Fan Advisory Council is designed to create a forum for dialogue with Athletic Department staff members. Through the Council, it is the goal of Drake Athletics to enhance the overall fan experience, increase attendance and engage the Des Moines community. The committee will meet approximately three to four times a year.
"The forming of this Council is a very important step in reconnecting with our fans," said Drake Director of Athletics
Brian Hardin. "I'm eager for this group to come together and share their experiences and ideas that will only strengthen Drake Athletics."
Members of the Fan Advisory Council will provide fans the opportunity to offer thoughts and insights on a range of topics including game day experience, concessions, customer service and other department initiatives.
Fans at least 18 years of age looking to be participants on the Fan Advisory Council can apply by completing this
online application. The deadline to apply is January 19.
"In an ideal situation, we would love to have a cross-section of our fan base represented on this inaugural Fan Advisory Council," Hardin said. "That would include fans of all ages, alumni and non-alumni of Drake University, Central Iowa residents and people outside of the local area, current or former season ticket holders, casual fans of Drake as well as supporters of any of our teams plus the Drake Relays."
This year's Fan Advisory Council will be selected by the end of January and the first meeting will be held before the end of February.
