DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis cruised past Nebraska-Omaha, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
 
For the first time this year the Bulldogs won the doubles point. Summer Brills and Joely Lomas made quick work of Janelle Wilson and Michelle Lo, winning 6-1 at No. 1. Tess Herder and Mela Jaglarz defeated Kenzie Hill and Hannah Hills, 6-3, at No. 3 to secure the point, while Alex Kozlowski and Kenya Williams completed the doubles sweep with a comeback victory over Rylee Tucker and Emily Behling.
 
"I am really thrilled that we won the doubles point. It has been something we have been working on and just to come back at No. 2 doubles to win all three doubles matches was a huge step for us," Drake head coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "In singles, the girls just took care of business and they fought and hustled for every point."
 
Brills coasted past Wilsom with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 performance at No. 2 singles to put Drake up 2-0. Lomas improved to 3-0 on the season, beating Tucker 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3. Williams clinched the Bulldog victory with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 4.
 
After dropping her first set 6-3, Jaglarz bounced back in a dominant fashion, winning the final two sets 6-0, 6-3.
 
Herder recorded the Bulldogs final win of the day at No. 1, defeating Lo 6-2, 7-5.
 
The Bulldogs will make their first road trip of the season on Friday, Feb. 17 when they head to Lincoln, Neb. to take on the Huskers at 5 p.m. Drake will wrap up its trip to Nebraska with a neutral site match against Colorado State on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m.
