ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the second-straight week, Drake University's Vinny Gillespie was named Missouri Valley Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
 
Gillespie kept his unblemished singles record intact with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Wisconsin's Josef Dodridge in Drake's 5-2 setback to the Badgers on Feb. 16. He is now 7-0 as the team's top singles player and is ranked 55th in the nation in the latest ITA rankings.
 
Gillespie has now received the MVC weekly honor three times.
 
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, Feb. 25 when they face off against BYU in Eugene Ore. at 2 p.m.
