DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis cruised past Upper Iowa, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
 
Summer Brills and Joely Lomas made quick work of Isabella Sella and Linn Sorman at No. 1 doubles, winning 6-0. Kenya Williams and Mela Jaglarz won five straight games to beat Kelly Jachymowski and Shakhnaza Zhanatova 6-4 at No. 2 and secure the doubles point for the Bulldogs.
 
Alex Kozlowski gave Drake a 2-1 lead after rolling past Breanna Heichert 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
 
Williams put together a near perfect performance with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jachyomowski at No. 3.
 
Brills defeated Zhanatova, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1 while Lomas beat Sorman 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2, extending Drake's lead to 5-1.
 
Jaglarz earned the final team point with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Anna Okolot at No. 4.
 
The Bulldogs begin Missouri Valley Conference play on Saturday, April 1 when they travel to Northern Iowa.
