Tess Herder, a junior from Lee's Summit, Mo., has been named this week's Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Drake Graduate and Professional Programs.
Herder, a member of the Drake women's team, went a combined 2-1 for the week. She rolled past Milwaukee's Eszter Zador 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles to help Drake sweep the Panthers 4-0. In doubles, Herder and
Mela Jaglarz defeated Marquette's Lesley Foe and Isabella Franks, 7-5 at No. 3 doubles for the Bulldogs only victory against the Golden Eagles.
Academically, Herder holds a 3.97 grade point average and is majoring in elementary education.
Herder and the women's tennis team travel to Saint Louis, Mo. on March 10 to take on Saint Louis University. The Bulldogs welcome Eastern Illinois University on March 12 at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
