SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Drake University's Vinny Gillespie earned his fourth Missouri Valley Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honor of the season, the league announced on Tuesday, March 7.
 
Gillespie went a combined 4-0 for the week to lead the Bulldogs to a victory over No. 47 Washington. He gave Drake a 2-0 lead after his 6-3, 6-2 victory over Washington's Mitch Stewart. Gillespie closed out his week with an impressive 6-1, 7-6 win over No. 78 Matic Spec from Minnesota.

In doubles, Tom Hands and Gillespie went 2-0 at No. 2 to help Drake win the doubles in both its matches against Washington and Minnesota.
 
Gillespie is now 10-1 in singles and is ranked 48th nationally in the latest ITA rankings.
 
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday when they travel to No. 10 Michigan.
