Rowing Travels To Clemson, S.C. For Annual Spring Break Training Trip

The Bulldogs start their regular season on March 25 as they travel to Lawrence, Kan. to race the University of Kansas.

CLEMSON, S.C.— The Drake University rowing team travels to Clemson, S.C. for its annual spring break training trip to be held this year from March 10-18.
 
Drake is set to row twice a day on Lake Hartwell while in Clemson. A number of other collegiate teams will be in attendance throughout the week, giving Drake the opportunity to participate in unofficial scrimmages. Sophomore Elise Nikolic (Champlin, Minn.) will be running a Facebook blog during the trip to give readers an inside look at the Bulldogs week in S.C. You can view the blog here.
 
The Bulldogs will race conference rival Marist College on Saturday, March 18 to close the trip. The Red Foxes have been selected to finish second in the 2017 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll with a total of 86 points. The Bulldogs have been chosen to finish fifth in the MAAC with a total of 63 points. The 2017 MAAC Women's Rowing Championship will take place on May 12 at Mercer Country Park in West Windsor, N.J.
