PEORIA, Ill. – The Drake University women's golf is in second-place at the Bradley Invitational through 18 holes on Saturday.
"I am very proud of the ladies today. They've been putting in the work, focusing on the process and now we're seeing the results. For us to shoot 300 is a milestone. We know we can go even lower and I can't wait to see them continue to compete and get better," said Drake head coach
Rachael Pruett.
The Bulldogs recorded a season-best 300 in the first round and have a six-stroke cushion in front of third-place Missouri-St. Louis.
Sophomore
Grace Dunn fired a one-under par, 71, while junior
Nicole Blanchard shot a one-over par 73. Junior
Madison Glennie recorded a 76 in the first round, while freshman
Sigurlaug Jonsdottir registered an 80. Fellow freshman
Aimee Gerschke carded an 88 to wrap up the first round for the Bulldogs.
The first round was delayed for two hours due to frost, so teams only completed 27 holes on the first day and will play the final 27 holes on Sunday to complete the 54-hole event.
