Tess Herder, a junior from Lee's Summit, Mo., has been named this week's Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Drake Graduate and Professional Programs.
Herder, a member of the women's tennis team, went a combined 3-1 for the week. She clinched Drake's 4-3 win over Bradley with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 victory over Natalia Barbery at No. 2 singles. Herder then helped the Bulldogs secure the doubles point against Illinois State and beat Karla Vujicic 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, but Drake ultimately fell to the Redbirds 4-3.
Academically, Herder holds a 3.96 grade point average and is majoring in elementary education.
Herder and the women's tennis team return to the Roger Knapp Center on April 22 to take on Evansville at 1 p.m.
