Men’s Basketball To Face Wake Forest In First Round Of 2017 Paradise Jam

Bulldogs to make the program's second trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands

The Drake University men's basketball team will face Wake Forest in the first round of the 2017 Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The game will be the first of three contests for the Bulldogs at the UVI Sports & Fitness Center, Nov. 17-20.
 
Drake will face either Quinnipiac or Colorado in its second game Nov. 18 with the final contest coming against either Mercer, Liberty, Drexel or Houston Nov. 20. Game times and viewing options will be announced at a later date.
 
Wake Forest is coming off a 19-14 season and advanced to the NCAA First Four in 2016-17 and have made 23 NCAA Tournament appearances in its history.
 
Colorado enjoyed similar success, going 19-15 in 2016-17 with an appearance in the NIT while Quinnipiac, a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) recorded a 10-21 record in 2016-17.
 
The Bulldogs 2017 Paradise Jam appearance will be the second in program history. The Bulldogs previously participated in the 2011 event, going 1-2 with a win over Winthrop and losses to Mississippi by a combined 12 points.
