DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to No. 50 Wichita State on Saturday afternoon at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
The Shockers claimed the doubles point to take an early 1-0 and continued their momentum into singles.
Ting-Ya Hsu defeated
Joely Lomas, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, while Giulia Giudetti topped
Summer Brills, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 to clinch the match.
The Bulldogs had a bright spot at No. 2 singles as
Tess Herder managed to force a third set, but ultimately fell 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) to Fatima Bizhukova.
Drake has a quick turnaround as it hosts Missouri State on Sunday at 11 a.m.
