Baranczyk to be Featured Speaker at USA Basketball Sioux Falls Coach Academy

Baranczyk, who served as a court coach for the 2017 USA Basketball Women’s U19 World Cup Team trials last month in Colorado Springs, guided Drake to one of the most successful seasons in school history this past year.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Drake women's basketball head coach Jennie Baranczyk will be one of the featured speakers at the USA Basketball Sioux Falls Coach Academy Presented by Nike, USA Basketball announced Wednesday, June 14 afternoon. The academy will take place on June 24-25 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
 
Baranczyk, who served as a court coach for the 2017 USA Basketball Women's U19 World Cup Team trials last month in Colorado Springs, guided Drake to one of the most successful seasons in school history this past year. The Bulldogs won both Missouri Valley Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles to earn the program's 11th trip to the NCAA Tournament and the first since 2007.
 
USA Basketball Coach academies provide valuable insight and education to coaches and administrators of basketball. Academy sessions impart the USA Basketball curriculum for a proper skill development path to teach the game to players of all ages and ability levels. Additionally, guest speakers deliver on and off court sessions on basketball and leadership topics.
 
Baranczyk is just one of several successful coaches scheduled to present at the academy. Joining her in Sioux Falls will be Steve Prohm, head men's basketball coach at Iowa State University, Michael Neighbors, head women's basketball coach at the University of Arkansas, Brian Jones, head men's basketball coach at the University of North Dakota, Don Showalter, USA Basketball coach development director and an eight-time USA Basketball Developmental Coach of the Year award winner, Tom Billeter, head men's basketball coach at Augustana University, Howard Moore, assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin, Dave Schlabaugh, head men's basketball coach at Cornell College and Pat Sullivan, a motivational speaker and a former collegiate head coach.
 
Baranczyk has compiled an impressive 99-61 record in five seasons at Drake, including a 61-29 mark in MVC play. Baranczyk has had nine players earn 16 all-conference selections, four MVC Freshman of the Year award winners and two MVC Player of the Year honorees during her tenure. Starting in 2014-15, the Bulldogs have recorded three-consecutive 20-plus win seasons under Baranczyk. It is the first time since 1999-2002 this has occurred at Drake.
