VIRUM, Denmark – Former Drake University women's basketball standout Caitlin Ingle has signed a contract with professional team, Virum GoDream, of the Danish Dameligaen League. Ingle from Runnells, Iowa will depart for Denmark in mid-August and the Dameligaen regular season schedule runs from September to late April. She is the first former Bulldog to ink a professional deal since Kristin Turk played in Sweden in 2011-12.
 
"Every kid dreams to be a professional athlete growing up and I am blessed to continue playing basketball," said Ingle. "I am excited to go overseas and experience a new culture and leave my comfort zone of Des Moines. This opportunity would not have been possible without my Drake career. I am grateful to all my teammates, coaches and supporters."
 
Ingle, a point guard, is the Drake and Missouri Valley Conference's all-time assists leader with 786 and averaged a stellar 6.1 assists per game in her decorated Drake career. She was named to the All-MVC First Team in each of her final three seasons. As a senior, Ingle averaged 7.6 assists per game, which ranked third in the nation and led the MVC, a feat she accomplished in each of her final three seasons. Also in her final season, Ingle averaged 10.2 points and surpassed 1,000 career points early in the year. In her career, Ingle recorded one triple-double, 16 points/assists double-doubles and had 23 games with handing out 10 or more assists. Twice, she tallied 15 assists in a game, which is tied for third most in school history.
 
An outstanding student, Ingle was a three-time MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team selection. She graduated with a psychology degree and a sociology minor.
