ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake University's Mack Marrin was named to the 2017 Preseason All-Pioneer Football League Team as selected by the league's head coaches, the league announced Tuesday, July 25.
 
Marrin, who earned 2016 Preseason All-PFL honors, battled through an injury most of last season to earn all-PFL honors. He recorded 17 tackles including 11 solo and 0.5 for a loss in 2016. In 2015, Marrin posted a league-best 8.5 sacks among 12.5 tackles for a loss and earned first-team All-PFL honors.
 
Returning players who were selected to the league's 2016 All-PFL Teams were placed automatically on the 2017 Preseason All-PFL team in order of voting. Eight First-Team All-PFL honorees return for the 2017 season. In addition, 14 Second-Team All-PFL selections and seven honorable mention recipients join the 2017 preseason squad. 
 
The upcoming 2017 season marks the 25th year for the Pioneer Football League – the nation's only non-scholarship, football-only NCAA Football Championship Subdivision conference. The league will feature 11 teams each playing an eight-game schedule to determine the league champion and recipient of the automatic bid to the NCAA FCS Championship.
