Glennie and Jonsdottir Named To WGCA All-American Scholar Team

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Drake women's golfers Madison Glennie and Sigurlaug Jonsdottir were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team for their effort in the classroom.
 
Glennie a junior from Clearwater, Fla. maintains a perfect 4.0 grade point average in English and law, politics and society to receive her third WGCA honor, while Jonsdottir also holds a perfect GPA in math and chemistry to earn the award.
 
Glennie capped off the 2017 season with a 17th-place finish at the MVC Championship to earn her second-straight top-18 flag honor and finished the year with a 78.0 average through 28 rounds. Jonsdottir wrapped up her rookie season with an 80.6 averaged through 25 rounds and recorded 12 rounds in the 70s.
 
The WGCA All-American Scholar Golf Teams recognize outstanding academic and athletic achievements in women's college golf across Division I, II and III. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with student-athletes needing to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
