DES MOINES, Iowa - The entire Drake athletic department convened on Sunday, Aug. 27, afternoon at the Knapp Center to recognize its student-athletes and pledge to live the Bulldog Way both on and off the field.
In addition to reaffirming their commitment to living the Bulldog Way, Drake student-athletes and staff lived it by partnering with Meals From the Heartland to package more than 40,000 meals that will be delivered to malnourished people in Iowa, across the United States and around the world.

Megan Franklin was joined by Drake University president Marty Martin and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee members in detailing the tenets of the Bulldog Way and the success it has created.
Every team, student-athlete, coach and staff member pledged to live the Bulldog Way and signed a copy of the Bulldog Way, which states

The Bulldogs also recognized award winners from the 2016-17 season including the Howlett Award winners, given annually to Drake's top male and female student-athletes.
