DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men's golf team returns to competition on Monday as Bulldogs are set to play at the Derek Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Ill. at the Gateway National Golf Links.
The 17-team field hosted by SIUE features, Bradley, Eastern Illinois, Creighton, Drake, Iowa Western CC, Loyola, Missouri State, Murray State, Mott CC, Nicholls State, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, Omaha UT Martin, Valparaiso and Western Illinois.
Play will begin with at an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, and conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m.
In the Bulldogs last time out, they put together a strong showing at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, finishing in 11th-place. Junior
Jack Kennedy led the team as he fired a one-under par 71 to finish tied for 24th-place with a total score of 215 (72-72-71). Freshman
Tim Lim also registered a one-under par 71 in the final round to finish is first collegiate tournament with a score of 220 (76-73-71). Senior
Drew Ison shot an even par 72 to finish tied for 29th-place with a total score of 216 (75-71-72).
Following the Derek Dolenc Invitational, the Bulldogs will host the third-annual Zach Johnson Invitational on Oct. 2-3 at the Glen Oaks Country Club.
