ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake men's basketball redshirt senior Graham Woodward (Edina, Minn.) and junior Nick McGlynn (Stoughton, Wis.) have been selected as a part of the Missouri Valley Conference specialty teams, the conference announced Wednesday, Feb. 28. Woodward was named to the All-Bench Team while McGlynn earned honors on the Most-Improved Team.
Woodward proved to be extremely efficient off Drake's bench, appearing in all 31 games this season for the Bulldogs averaging 9.1 points per game. Woodward is shooting 38.9 percent from three-point range and has totaled 50 assists and 22 steals this season. He recently moved into the top-10 in career three-pointers at Drake.
McGlynn started all 31 games this season averaging 11.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. He has scored in double-digits 20 times this season and recorded five double-doubles while leading the MVC in blocks during conference play. McGlynn, who averaged 4.9 points per game a year ago, closed out regular season play shooting 52.0 percent.
The pair joins Reed Timmer (New Berlin, Wis.), who was named first team All-MVC Tuesday, on the All-MVC teams.
Drake begins MVC Tournament play on Friday, Mar. 2 as the No. 4 seed against No. 5 Bradley. Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.
