ELMHURST, Ill. – For the second time this season, junior Vinny Gillespie was named Summit League Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday, March 20. A Bulldog has recorded the weekly award seven out of nine weeks in Drake's inaugural season in the Summit League.
 
Gillespie teamed up with Barny Thorold and upset No. 18 Jose Grarcia/Lucas Poullain to help Drake earn the doubles point against No. 19 Florida State. In singles, Gillespie battled the nation's No. 87 player, FSU's Aziz Dougas to a pair of tiebreakers at No. 1 singles.
 
He owns a 10-9 singles record and a 10-6 doubles mark this season.
 
The Bulldogs schedule doesn't get any easier as they travel to No. 47 Oregon this weekend.
