ST. LOUIS -- Drake University senior Summer Brills was named Missouri Valley Conference Singles Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
 
Brills led the Bulldogs to wins over Missouri-St. Louis and SIUE with a pair of straight set wins at No. 1 singles. She defeated UMSL's Kristine Lindal, 6-4, 6-2 and the topped SIUE's Lara Tupper, 6-2, 7-5. Brills improved to 8-1 as the Bulldogs' top singles player.
 
The Bulldogs return to the Roger Knapp Tennis Center this weekend as they host Montana State on Friday and Grand Canyon on Sunday.
