MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Drake women's
tennis team ran into stiff competition at the Memphis Invitational on Saturday
(Oct. 13) as the Bulldogs were not able to garner a victory in its nine
matches.
Drake opened its
day battling Loyola Marymount in doubles.
The Bulldogs best shot at victory came at the No. 3 position where
sophomore Nell Boyd (Arlington
Heights, Ill.) and freshman Maddie Johnson (Onalaska, Wis.) dropped a 9-7 decision against Reka Rohonyi and Kristine
Kouyoumjian.
In singles versus
Memphis, junior Klavdija Rebol (Kranj, Slovenia) was the lone Bulldog to extend
her match to three sets before Skylar Kuykendall registered a 5-7, 6-0, 6-3
victory.
Drake concluded its
day against UT Martin with six singles matches.
The Bulldogs
close out their stay at the Memphis Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 14) battling
Memphis and UT Martin in doubles and Loyola Marymount in singles competition.
