DES MOINES, Iowa - The Drake Bulldogs volleyball team was able to take advantage of the unusually nice, March weather and head outside for some training on the sand courts on Wednesday.

Beach volleyball is an excellent training tool for developing well rounded volleyball players, as each player must improve and master every skill of the game.  When playing Beach doubles players must cover the whole court with just one teammate, extending their range, hustle and reading skills.  In addition, players also get excellent game like conditioning and jump training from playing in the sand. The increase in contacts makes it a great addition for off-season training.
