COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Drake University men's golf team finished tied for 12th-place out of 16 teams at the Tiger Invitational on Tuesday at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Mo.
The Bulldogs recorded a 306 in the final round for a total score of 910 (303-301-306) and were tied with South Dakota.
Juniors
Drew Ison and
Matt Lavery each shot a four-over par 76 on final day. Ison finished tied for 21st-place to lead the team with a total score of 225 (78-71-76). Lavery ended the 54-hole event with a total score of 228 (74-78-76).
Tommi Avant,
Kyle MacDonald and
Jack Kennedy each registered a 77 to close out the tournament. Avant tied with Lavery with a total score of 228 (75-76-77), while MacDonald finished a stroke behind Avant and Lavery with a 229 (76-76-77). Kennedy ended up with a total score of 243 (86-80-77).
The Bulldogs will have nearly two weeks to prepare for the Missouri Valley Conference Championship set to get underway on April 24-25 at the Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Chicago.
